Lafayette came from behind to capture its second consecutive Liberty Bell Classic Championship with a 5-4 win over Lehigh. Freshman Rob Froio and junior Daniel Bierce combined for five hits and three runs while the Lafayette pitching staff came through in the clutch. Freshman Joseph Verdon and senior Brad Woodfield combined for six shutout innings in relief. Brian Mostek pitched the eight and ninth innings, picking up his third save of the year. In the eight inning, Nick Tucker got on base with a leadoff walk and an eventual throwing error helped him reach third. Justin Shepherd then hit a single to right center to score Nick Tucker and tie the game at four. Ryan Roberts then grounded out to first to allow pinch runner A.J. Pisarri to score the go-ahead run, giving Lafayette a 5-4 lead and the eventual victory.
