EASTON, PA – The Leopards fell to Yale on a buzzer beating three-pointer just seconds after Joey Ptasinski tied the game with a baseline jumper.
Junior Seth Hinrichs netted a career-high 28 points, his third straight 20-point game. Freshman Nick Lindner added 18 points and a team-high five assists. The Maroon and White shot 50.9 percent from the field, including 42.9 percent from distance.
The game saw six ties and seven lead changes. Ptasinski dropped a pair of threes in the final four minutes of the first half to sent the Maroon and White to the locker room down by a point. The Leopards did not score in the second half until just after the four-minute mark when Lindner drove for a layup to kickstart an 11-0 run.
Down six with 20 ticks remaining, Lindner converted a three-point play. Hinrichs followed with a pair of made free throws, bringing the Leopards within one with 10.9 seconds remaining. Following a 1-for-2 attempt from the stripe by Yale, Ptasinski found cotton on a baseline jumper to tie the game with 3.5 seconds left. Javier Duren’s 27-foot three-pointer as time expired dropped the Leopards.
