EASTON, PA –Lafayette extended its winning streak to four games with a 77-71 victory over Lehigh. Joey Ptasinski matched his career-high with 23 points in the win., leading four Leopards in double figures.
Bryce Scott finished with 16 points, while Nick Lindner and Dan Trist finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Seth Hinrichs grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds for Lafayette
A back and forth first half would not see either team lead by more than two until Lehigh took a 31-26 lead with four minutes to go in the first half. Trailing 34-29, Lafayette rattled off seven straight points to end the half with a 36-34 advantage. The Leopards’ biggest lead was 10 in the second half.
Lehigh’s Mackey McKnight connected from three with 20.7 seconds remaining to pull Lehigh within two, 73-71. Hinrichs was immediately fouled on the inbounds pass and knocked down two more free throws for the Leopards. On the Mountain Hawks next possession, McKnight could not connect from deep and Ptasinski pulled down the rebound. Lehigh fouled right away and Ptasinski sealed the 77-71 win with two more free throws.
