EASTON, PA – The Leopards locked up the sixth seed in the Patriot League Tournament with an 81-70 victory over Colgate. The win pulled the Maroon and White to .500 on the season.
Lafayette had four players score in double digits led by Emily Homan’s 17 points. Sophomore Jamie O’Hare knocked down a quartet of threes en route to 14 points, while Linnel Macklin registered 12 points and Maddie Peabody racked up 10 points. Freshman Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby made the most of her first career start with eight points and 10 boards.
Macklin sparked the Leopard offense scoring eight of Lafayette’s first 13 points. A 50 percent first half shooting effort powered the Maroon and White to a nine-point lead at the break. Colgate got off to a quick start in the second half only to see the Leopards answer with a nine-point spurt midway through the half, capped by a triple from O’Hare, to take control and defeat the Raiders 81-70.
