EASTON, PA – The Leopards hosted Boston University for the first time as Patriot League foes with the terriers winning 89-76.
Dan Trist used a 10-point first half to power his way to a game-high 19 off the bench. Freshman Nick Lindner also came off the bench to score 16 points and hand out five assists. Joey Ptasinski added five boards to compliment his 13 points. Alan Flannigan netted 10 points.
Trailing 19-9 just over halfway through the first stanza, the Maroon and White pieced together a quick 7-0 spurt led by Trist and Michael Hoffman to pull the game within three. Down seven with less than a minute remaining in the half, Trist knocked down a jumper in the paint before Lindner took advantage of a key Terrier turnover to convert a layup as the Leopards went to the locker room down three.
A pair of Flannigan jumpers sandwiched around a Terrier bucket had the Maroon and White down one early in the second period. Boston shot 63 percent from the floor in the second half, outscoring Lafayette 52-44 in the decisive period.
