The Lafayette men utilized a ten point halftime lead to defeat a visiting Central Connecticut State team 71-54 at Kirby Sports Center. Though CCSU led early in the game, a Bilal Abdullah jumper put the Leopards ahead, and they would not relinquish the lead, going up by as much as 12 points in the first half. Andrew Brown and Paul Cummins both contributed three three-pointers as the Leopards shot over 50 percent from the floor in the opening period. In the second half, CCSU opened with a 10-3 run to cut the Leopard lead to 40-37 at 15:19. The Blue Devils would again pull within three at the 12-minute mark, but would not come any closer for the remainder of the game. Over the next 6:30, Lafayette went on an 18-6 run, aided by threes from Abdullah, Cummins and Brown. Michael Gruner and Abdullah both hit free throws to give the Leopards their biggest lead of the game, 65-48, with 2:31 remaining. They would cruise to a 71-54 win, their second consecutive win of the season. Brown led the Leopards with 17 points, and Abdullah and Cummins joined him in double figures with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
