EASTON, PA – After going 1-1 on a two-game road swing that included the Leopards’ first ever win at Bucknell’s Sojka Pavilion, Lafayette returned home to down Loyola 61-44.
Junior Seth Hinrichs became the 39th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points when he collected an offensive rebound and converted on the putback just under the 11-minute mark in the second half. Dan Trist led the Maroon and White in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-6 from the field and hit all four of his free throw attempts. As a team the Leopards shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc. Defensively, Lafayette held the Greyhounds to just 1-of-14 from three-point range.
A slow but efficient first half saw the Maroon and White take a 27-22 lead into the break. In the second half, a 21-6 run gave Lafayette a 47-30 lead it would not relinquish. Lafayette led by as many as 24 in the second half.
